reading is better in 16:9 or 16:10 (which is the same thing), once apps are designed for it. try bento reader, u can snap a nav bar to the left with a touch. awesome.
besides if reading is your thing, a laptop and kindle is best anyway

Leave it to The Verge to understate Apple’s deteriorating situation. Let me translate the data for you, Mr. Verge:
Android shipped 4x the number of smartphones than Apple.

I still have my old Samsung Vibrant (with Avatar pre-installed that could not be removed). Maybe I will watch it on that 4" screen to punish myself.
Or,
I still have my old G1. Yeah baby. It’s kinda like a feature phone, but the ladies will drop left and right when they see that keyboard slide out, oooyeah

gp, when I travel on vacation, I don’t get a local sim card (it’s a vacation after all), I just use wireless. So off-network is a super important feature. thanks

haha, that’s the first time I’ve seen a question settled on one of these forums. Thanks.
I’m also guessing that maps in WP8 is easier to use with just your thumb since the UI is so snappy and efficient.

My Surface is just as useful as my iPad (which I gave to my nephew, who then gave it to his dad).
If you’re not into games, or mixing techno, the Surface kills it just fine.
And frankly, the Surface better for watching movies because if u want 16:9 on the iPad u get letterboxed and it shrinks the movie size down to like 8 inches.

I’m tired of this apples to oranges comparison. Win 7 was replacing a decade old OS. Win 8 is not. Win 7 is still very fresh, and the remaining Win XP systems are enterprise, back office, second PCs or whatever – their owners will run them as long as possible.

Switching Costs. They are trying to make it hard for users of their services to switch to Windows 8, while keeping it easy to move to Chrome OS.
Why? Because they will make more money per use on Chrome OS or Android then on Windows (any platform).
It’s still early days for W8, so they are hoping to make inroads with Chrome (which IMO is DOA anyways).
It’s all about money.
