You’re an idiot… You’re whining about something that it TOLD you that it was going to do. 15 minutes warning is pretty ample time. You could have just hit ‘restart’ and then burned the dvd afterwards.
Okay firstly, I would not consider the 920 to be “THE” WP8 flagship any longer.
As for your skype issue – I would assure you that your issue stems from too many things running on your phone and/or bad network connectivity/speeds.
I was called today on skype and my phone actually range before my wifi-connected desktop. I also find that the live tile and push notifications are incredibly fast – especially when you take into account my Skype experience with Android.
It’s sad really… They make these beautiful phones and then can only get the worst carriers (or least popular carriers) to pick them up. I’ll still be getting a 928 on VZW, but if Nokia is going to get serious about staying alive in the market, they need to stop with carrier exclusives.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I really don’t see the big deal about always-on. I think that, as long as there’s some type of ‘forgiveness period’ to prevent being disconnected from intermittent internet, it’s not a terrible idea. If you think about it, a cell phone is an ‘always on’ device. It’s completely useless if you’re not connected to the network. Why are we so up in arms about always on for the Xbox but not about a device that most people use all day, every day?
Lastly, it’s rumors, so stop speculating and freaking out about unsubstantiated things.
From the xbox video app, you control the player from your computer – it only continues to play on both media devices separately when smartglass decides to disconnect. It just seems incredibly sensitive :\
