OK so repeating this test one two separate occasions (to a total of 3 times), the Shockwave plugin for Google Chrome crashed.

I’m not sure what I’ve done, but ever since I was watching a Verge video while violently resizing the video to try and break the responsive design, my Chrome isn’t happy at all and not loading feature rich pages :p. It past the test by the way, I like how it chose different stream instantly when it reached different sizes etc. Shortly after while popping out the window from a tab and closing it, the browser froze up and keeled over though haha
Killing Chrome instead of just closing and re-opening fixed it. I am sure it was just a one off thing to do with my particular setup, with the extensions I have installed, at that particular time.

5 pages just for ad views is going a bit far isn’t it! I don’t like it at all, but could at least understand if it was just 2 pages:p

Did anyone else get the feeling that the video shot was going wide to a shot of him when things were getting a bit hairy :p? I also noticed some lag with the swipes and some inaccuracies when he was touching / swiping the screen.
But due to this being a budget phone, I suppose none of that matters and I’m being picky. It does seem like a pretty good feature phone and a decent attempt from Nokia, as it works and also looks desirable.

Or give it back to eBay as it’s eBay’s money they have stolen (*if proven guilty in a court of law blah) and therefore up to eBay on how they spend it (e.g. fast cars and holidays or food for the poor).
Lovely thought though, it would be great to set up some sort of program to get them through school and maybe employed with eBay later, so eBay get some trained staff out of it at least

I think this is a pretty silly observation to mention. Their entire revenue system has always been based around ad-revenue, it isn’t becoming a one trick pony, if anything it is continuing with that but continuing to expand in other areas! I’m not sure if it’s still the case, but when I did a case study in 2010, their ad revenue was something like 96% and when I did a quick Google just now, it was still being quoted as 96% in 2012 – so it’s safe to say, yes, ads are their business.
Google’s alternative revenues must be app stores commissions, consultancy and business services (and enterprise products). But if you think about it they are seriously getting their fingers into their pies of hardware, fiber network (less serious maybe) and financial transaction processing / handling through Google Wallet / Merchant services.
Google have many tricks up their sleeve and it looks like the ad business can continue to grow, as they come up with more instances where they can show us ads (e.g. mobile) and more creative ways of doing so (leading to more interaction, clicks and revenue)
