I never quite know which apps are going to be in my multitasking menu, so I find myself generally ignoring it.
It shows the 5 last used apps that you left by using the home/windows-button.

I find it funny how everybody whines about the smallest details of Metro on Win 8, however some quite big hickups in Lion are ignored because it is still in development… People talk about Windows 8 like it’s already on the market.

Each OEM or carrier wants a cohesive portfolio of phones that have different specs and screen sizes, but come with (almost) the same UI. Their target group aren’t some people who want pure android, but the average consumer who wants a visually appealing menu and homescreen. And the other people can still flash their devices.
