My MPB already has an SSD and I’ve maxed out the RAM. I was thinking about the Thunderbolt Display so that I could keep things simple and just dock the laptop and have everything else running through the Thunderbolt Display.

It’s not an issue for me, since I don’t have a Windows computer. Just the laptop.

It’s honestly a trade off. Ideally, I’d like to have both more power and a bigger display, but I can’t afford a new computer AND a Thunderbolt Display.

I think the extra horsepower would serve me better in the long run though.

I absolutely loved my Tivos. I had several of them over the years and used them from the first one in 1999 until just a few years ago. But the interface on the newer models was horribly slow and made getting around a fight with lag.

Remember when CableVision did this and they got sued by all of the networks? It’s always nice when you own one of the networks…you can’t sue yourself!

Mission control is a complete mess. They took useful features (Spaces and Expose) and made them less useful.

I’m really hoping for a Retina MacBook Pro with faster graphics. I’ve been holding out on getting one since the current graphics chips that Intel ships are just powerful enough for such high resolution displays.

Exactly. If you had Gmail open and were signed into chat and someone texted your Google Voice number, it would show up as a message in Google Talk. Looks like Hangouts is doing the same thing (I’m guessing the extension keeps you signed in to Hangouts even when you’re not visiting Google Plus.
