You think being “free and open” is their main competitive point?
Don’t accidentally turn into one of those delusional FOSS kiddies. Stuff doesn’t succeed because of principles or because of whether everyone involved is an employee. Android is where it is today because of many reasons working together, and I can guarantee that 9/10 people walking around with a Galaxy S2 today don’t give a crap about their phone’s openness—if they’re even aware of it.
