And just a personal opinion to this, I just HATE when people try and differentiate games between movies and music and books. If you want games to be considered art(which I do), they should have the same standards that other forms of media thats considered art have.

I too would like to know this. Bethesda is probably the best in terms of “for the customer”, but even they practice a lot of overcharged DLC content.

The Play videos I have, though, are from companies that have a little more sense on them than the one that tries to monetize free advertising.
Bet this guy has Dead Space and COD LP’s on his youtube channel lol

Its an odd thing in this case, because Nintendo supplies YT reviewers with games sometimes(I believe ProJared said the other day that he got Animal Crossing from them already). I think Nintendo is just going after people that show the full game online in this scenario.
On another note, Nintendo should just start making walkthrough reviews online on YouTube. Stop paying prima for their use of print and do it themselves online and get their own add revenue.

Although you may have purchased something yourself, usually its actual creator or author holds many of the rights needed to commercially exploit this content. This means you cannot monetize third party content that you have purchased unless its rights owner grants you commercial use rights.

Doesn’t matter, Googles/YouTubes terms of service says that a Lets Play can’t generate revenue for the user. So in reality, it doesn’t matter who has the ownership of the video if all they want is money from it.

I’m not an Android user, so I’m not the best example here. But if I was an Android user, I would have found it disappointing. No new hardware, the biggest news was new Google+(LOL) stuff, and the only useful thing was the new map and navigation system. Not that this stuff isn’t important, but the I/O event is supposed to be Googles BIG yearly event. This basically jut said to me that Google is taking the year off.

Dude, just today they reported that they made 7 million yen year over year. They were expecting to make 11 million yen, so they missed projections, but they still made profit. Fact check before you troll please.

Which is what Nintendo will be doing. They just won’t have an extravagant showcase like before. They’ll still be at E3, but as a booth.
E3 is becoming like PAX is anymore. nobody is “announcing” new hardware, just software.

Nintendo just posted a profit this morning…….. I mean, I was a HUGE Sega fan, but they were incredibly awful business wise. Sega is more in line with Sony.

So their portable games, that sell well on their incredibly profitable portable system, should be ported to cell phones to help bood their home consol sales?

The industry is moving away from E3. Nintendo does the Nintendo Directs that are awesome, and Sony and MS are announcing their consols at separate, solo events(I mean, the past 3 years the Xbox event has been just a glorified CoD showing). On one hand, E3 will hold a special place from that nostalgia standpoint, but really, I think I like the “constant” stream of announcements we have now better.

Yeah, I’m not sure what that person is using that argument for. If its because s/he is afraid something is going to “light up” the scan, I don’t think it works the same was as a PT scanner. I had cancer and some of my radiation spots light up on medical scans, but I’ve traveled since and used the scanners and never had a problem.
