This is an awesome moment, M.C. Hammer would be proud. Just very randomly, you should pop up in the comments with your own meme.

I just wanted to pull two comparisons from vastly different time periods. Sega used to be a much more serious competitor during that time since they developed the same type of arcadey games like Nintendo. When the split between arcadey and cinema style games came, combined with a bunch of other factors, Sony got to stomp Nintendo.

Should be. Somehow I see a lot of people claiming to live in states without a sales tax. If they tie the tax to the address/zip code of the credit card used, I forsee a lot of people opening up bank/credit union accounts in tax free states.

Their sales dropped when the quality of their content dropped and/or changed. Sometimes it was both of those things (Wii Music anyone?). Heck, Nintendo practically abandoned the system. I wouldn’t trust them after doing that to me twice (Gamecube and Wii).
Their hardware doesn’t matter as much as the actual content and experience does. This has consistently been proven on the handheld and console front. The 3DS vs Vita is nowhere near as large as a gulf as something like the GameBoy and the Sega Nomad. The Wii sold crazy due to its’ simplified playing experience and quality content aimed at filling that experience out. When they abandoned that direction the Wii began to lose sales.
Yes, Nintendo isn’t tackling their console in the way that you would expect them to in the type of economy that we face today. It’s a bit strange, it has to be more than just arrogance. I mean at the last investor’s meeting they did state that they were completely abandoning blue ocean for red ocean (giving up on expanding the market and instead trying to fight for already defined markets with entrenched competitors).

Yep, people never realize how well off Nintendo is outside of their immediate situation. It’s amazing that they have so much money and talent despite them living in video games and video game licensing. They have got to be one of the richest entertainment companies in the world that doesn’t diversify much (different type of content and licensing).

I’d be happier if they kept porting Nintendo games to our consoles. Seriously, why isn’t their entire back catalog available?

Nope, I prefer to have the ability to be platform agnostic. Covering my bases lets me do that and it puts a smile on my face. If anyone feels like giving me a Lumia 810/920 It’d place an even bigger smile on my face!

I would probably run a bunch of old dos and winxp games that relied upon the mouse (Sim City, Alpha Centauri, etc). Then you have Paint.net or whatever editing tool you like to use. Sometimes a full x86 software has functions or preferred implementations and workflows that are not duplicated 1:1 by nui apps. Hell, I still use Winamp for my music whenever I use Windows. If Winamps nui app is anything like the Android app, I’ll stick with the Pro, x86 version that I bought years ago.
