As a CS major at VT, I have to agree with you. We have two job fairs each year that are only for CS people (in addition to the giant and all-encompassing engineering ones) and tons of companies pay money so that they can urge students (including freshman and sophomores) to apply for internships. Supposedly, there have been more companies than soon to be graduates at some of these in recent years. That doesn’t scream of an issue regarding a surplus of workers, but more of a wage/competition one.
