Another way of looking at the iPhone’s screen is that it fits in your pocket easier.

OK, the designer is from the UK, but the article states “NASA-inspired materials,” and it’s on display in Washington, DC.

Only in America would we innovate new, exciting ways of sitting on our asses.

I also prefer the subscription model for video, but I highly prefer owning my music. I watch most movies one or two times, but if I buy a music album, I will listen to that album for years. Although, for most pop music, I would never buy it and instead would listen on Spotify, because it gets tedious and repetitive far too fast.

On my wish list:
-Make iTunes faster. If they have to rewrite it like they did with FCP X, so be it.
-Simplify interface. Way too much going on in that app, and too much tacked on over the years.
-Sharing between users on one Mac. For many years I shared a Mac with the rest of my family. We had a lot of the same music, but because we had to have a separate copy of each song in each of our separate libraries, it wasted a lot of disk space. Let users on one computer have a common library, as well as separate libraries for music they don’t want to share.

Just move all the apps you don’t use onto the last page of your homescreen!

1) Make it easier to organize files between apps. I should be able to access the files of one app from within another, without having to enter that app and choose “open in” each time.
2) Let apps put widgets in Notification Center.
3) Siri API.
4) When I kill currently running apps, indicate which ones are actually still running instead of making me guess which ones aren’t already closed.
5) Siri on more devices besides iPhone.
6) Icons that can update (like the Calendar icon)
7) No limits on folder size
8) On non-iPhone devices, don’t give us two separate volume controls for sound effects and general audio. It just makes changing both a pain. Give me one almighty volume control.
9) More content-creation apps.
10) Make FaceTime/iMessage one app, and allow interoperability with equivalent IM protocols.

Good design isn’t intrusive. It should blend in. Unlike this:

Apple will simply release a new iPhone, most likely with a longer screen. It will be called the new iPhone, and will be compatible with all existing apps, which will either run scaled or in 960×640. The iPhone 4S will be sold for $99 in 8GB, and the iPhone 4 8 GB for free. The 3GS will be discontinued.
That’s all folks. Apple doesn’t want or need to give consumers yet another iPhone variant to choose from. You can either get the new one, or the old ones.

As a high school and former middle school student, I don’t know anyone who didn’t know how to move their icons. Heck, my grandma can do it.
I find the dock incredibly useful. I keep the apps I use many times a day in there, so that there’s no delay no matter which screen I’m on. I do think the interface has gotten a bit too glossy/realistic in some areas (stitched leather, torn paper in apps) but I think your fabric dock mockup looks more intrusive and garish than the existing glass, and not at all like Metro (which Apple can certainly learn from but should not try to imitate).
The good apps on iOS have pretty consistent interfaces. I don’t know what you mean in that regard. Sure, navigation bars and buttons may be different colors and textures, but most developers keep the fundamental UI elements taken from the API the same as they found them.
Instead of widgets on the homescreen, how about in Notification Center? Then you could see them without closing your current app. And yes, icons should not be static, but they should remain the same size.
