If I’ve got this straight, Wall Street fat cats were hoping to make big bucks shorting the stock, and not keeping anybody else informed of their inside information. So, as a result, Facebook’s getting sued? I’m sure in that bizarro world of made up numbers they live in, this makes sense, somehow. What’s the matter guys, did your magic 8 ball screw up?

Potions do exist in-game, they just have a hot-key, rather than the crap with the belt inventory that would reset whenever you died. It’s a much better system. In fact, I’d say I’m not unhappy with any of the changes they made. It’s much more streamlined. I’m no longer playing inventory tetris, The simplified damage call-outs make things much easier to evaluate. It’s a great successor. I didn’t know if they could make it as much better as Diablo II was to the original, but they did.

I agree with the assertion that they need to be more selective about hiring and training. I’ll never forget the day that I was being checked out at the geek squad counter, by a member of the “Geek Squad”, and the register ran out of paper. This supposedly tech savvy person, whom they would like me to pay to have fix my electronic devices (not that I ever need that anyway), could not figure out how to reload the paper. He had to have one of the lowly Blueshirts show him, after trying for about 5 minutes. The best part? All he had to do was follow the drawing in the lid, and just drop it in and go. he was putting it in backward them trying to hand feed it through the printer head.

Cable companies are some of the best at the ostrich impression when it comes to new technology and media. I’m perfectly fine with ignoring them as a source for my media consumption, since they are obviously fine with ignoring the ways that I would like to consume their offerings.

Yeah, YouTube will come up first, even before “actual” results at times, but chances are, there will be Vimeo or Daily Motion links in the top 10 somewhere if there’s a relavant link, especially if YouTube doesn’t have the exact thing being searched for. That’s still the the front page on Google. If we only ever needed to use the first result, the “I’m feeling Lucky” button would be all that was ever used. If they were actively blocking competitors stuff, yes, that would be anti-competitive strong-arming. They aren’t, though.

Well, it’ll be interesting to see what pans out. “a person close to the situation” is the source, but who actually came up with the 30% estimate? For the short term, I’m just curious to see where this all goes. I’m definitely interested, as an Android fan, but I have my doubts that it will be a major upheaval for the way things are sitting with Google and their hardware partners. They have way to much to lose, I think.

It seems worth mentioning that this is just Motorola Mobility, not the entirety of Motorola. Also, Google has said it will not be directly running day to day operations. It sucks that people are losing their jobs, to be sure, but if the company isn’t profitable as is, maybe that’s what needed to be done anyway. There’s speculation that the hardware division may even be spun off, but that’s not been substantiated by anything, as of yet. As for Blur, as it used to be called at any rate, I doubt it’s going anywhere on retail handsets. It’s already been stated that Google’s Nexus program will still be negotiated on a case by case basis, and it looks like they might even go with multiple manufacturers next time. Motorola Mobility may be one of them, but that would still only be Nexus devices that would recieve the much coveted Vanilla experience.

This is idiotic. Never become the best at anything in this country. You will be attacked from all sides by everyone else. Always aim for second best. I think schools should start teaching this now, to prepare for the time when the team that wins the Super Bowl is sued by the team from the year before for infringement of their copyright on “Superbowl Champions.” Yeah, that’s a ridiculous example. This is a ridiculous situation.

This is something that Apple should actually be able to sue over. I think the “their stuff looks like our stuff” complaint, when it would never be confused by someone holding them both in their hands is ridiculous. This is a blatant rip-off, though. That won’t stop me from trying it, obviously; just sayin’.

Let’s face it, if I’m searching for a location, I’m going to use Google Maps, if I’m looking for a video, I’ll look for it on YouTube first. Google isn’t a non-profit or government owned utility. Why WOULDN"T they put links to their own products? Especially when their products tend to be the most useful anyway. Yeah, I’m very confused by this. I don’t expect a car manual from a Ford to recommend GM replacement parts. Why is this an issue?

I used to be a PC gamer,as in, given the choice, a multiplatform game would be bought for PC first. Then I rediscovered the joy of a console that just works, all the time. I got an Xbox 360, and abruptly didn’t upgrade my computer or play any major titles on it for 5 years. Now I’m back, because, dang it, I like Diablo. It’s not been a good showing at all. It’d be nice if something would come of this trial that was of substance; say, a precedent that goes in a unified direction toward determining how this stuff should work. How it’s turning out, though, is disappointing. I guess the only thing we’re learning from this, is that when it comes to copyright law and patents, the side with the cleverest lawyer wins. There is no substance, and no justice, just a waste of money. How about you guys make some new products?

Hey, they decided this was worth their time. If it turns out to cost them money, well, maybe next time they should consider investing money in running their business rather than paying their lawyers. Java isn’t even their creation originally, and the people who should feel damaged, if in fact Google did infringe on their creative works, don’t even work there anymore.
