It’s not an ad. E-40 didn’t pay them to display that there. It showed up because Google, for whatever reason, thought that you may be interested in it based off of your searches and music you listen to. You can very easily disable music recommendations, by the way.

iOS is a completely different operating system. The iPhone has completely different hardware. How would tweaking one operating system to fully take advantage of and perform well with its unique hardware be able to benefit a different software and hardware combo?

Verizon is still doing it. Remember the DNA commercials where they implanted the phone into the guy’s chest? WHO IS THAT FOR?!

They have good coverage and I have currently have unlimited LTE. I’m hoping I can hold out until VoLTE kicks off and we start seeing LTE only phones without CDMA. Then I’ll do all my phone shopping on the play store and use them like the data pipe they are. All I know is I’m never signing another contract again.

Having made the mistake of holding the One, I can confirm that my GS3 feels gross and unsophisticated. Too bad my contract isn’t up until September and I’m on Verizon.

It’s interesting you say that, because I think that may actually be one of the problems with their marketing. Most people aren’t used to blasting music from their speakers because they are almost universally terrible. When they want good sound from their phones. They plug them into speakers or headphones. Yet, all of their commercials I’ve seen have been about how speakers sound better when they’re facing you. That’s not really something you can test very well in a busy AT&T store. I was at a HTC One experience booth in the middle of the mall, and as you can imagine, the difference was hard to hear in such unfavorable acoustic conditions. I think many, like you, would be pleasantly surprised IF they got the phone home. However, that can’t be the main draw HTC is promoting for the phone. It’s not something you can really experience at the point of sale, and I don’t think it’s a feature people are yearning for until they realize what they’ve been missing.

I agree about the software. I had a Galaxy Nexus, but it broke and Verizon didn’t have any more to replace it so I was stuck with a Galaxy S3. It was faster and the screen was a slight improvement, but Touchwiz was unfathomably horrendous. I literally could not use it without flashing an AOSP rom. When I used the One, I could actually see myself using Sense 5. I still love AOSP, but Sense doesn’t seemed to be bloated or laggy anymore and a lot of it looks extremely polished.

The dual front facing speakers. That slim, curvaceous aluminum unibody. And even with the skin (which is surprisingly nice), that thing is lightning fast and smooth. I finally got a chance to play with one today and I’m still drooling. Damn you, Verizon.
