Hmm, quite an interesting conclusion. So they find that the rate of mortality is higher among children born of Hispanic immigrant parents. How the hell did that extrapolate to ALL immigrants again?

Case in point, most of my US born Asian friends are taller, stronger and lead a more active lifestyle than their parents. They are definitely NOT going to die of bad health habits.

Perhaps this trend is because of the Hispanic culture itself and doesn’t apply to all immigrants?

Glad to see Windows Phone picking up momentum!

I’ve always had a soft spot for Windows Phone. But as many times as I joined the platform (HD7 —> Radar —> Lumia 900), so many times did I switch back to Android. The longest I’ve stayed with WP is 1 month on the 900. Main reason: nothing kept me there. Sure, the UI is elegant and unique, but the novelty wears off after a week or two. People put up with iOS because of the apps and customer service, Android is known for its great customizability and integration with Google services, what was WP’s definitive feature aside from the UI? WP handles core mobile tasks differently but not better nor worse. Imagine your non-techie family and friend asks you which smartphone they should buy, what would you fill in the blank “If you want ….. you should get Windows Phone”? And remember, people are reluctant to changes – you can’t just be different for the sake of being different. Remember the outcry over the ribbon in Office?

I’m glad to see Nokia bringing their hardware chops to the table. At least now the camera and design of the Lumia 920 are tempting enough me to try Windows Phone again. Finally it can be unlocked and used on T-Mobile – can’t wait to snatch a red Lumia 920 off of Craigslist this weekend!

Can any veteran Windows Phone user compare the experience between WP7 & WP8? Does multitasking actually work now, i.e. I can receive Skype call outside the app and Nokia Drive would resume navigation if I need to answer a phone call? Do 3rd-party apps, especially games, load faster now? Gosh, I felt like half my time using WP was staring at dots running across the screen.

Sure, acid base neutralization is one way to produce water, but that’s NOT the only way.

High school chemistry also say that any carbohydrate will burn in oxygen and create water. A massive meteorite composed mostly of solid methane falling through the atmosphere will produce water just fine.

How much can you back up to the free 5GB storage really? If I can do complete back-ups of ALL my iDevices to my computer for free, why would I want to pay Apple just so I don’t have to use iTunes?

Or and good luck restoring from iCloud if you don’t have internet.

Are you sure it’s not just your battery wearing out? ’Cause you know, batteries do decrease their max capacity over time…. Yours must be at least 2 years old as you ran Snow Leopard on it originally.

I added an SDD to my 2010 Macbook Pro and it boots in 7 seconds :-). Not bad compared to Fusion Drive.
