One of the reasons I bought an iPhone 4S was Anandtech saying it had better battery life on 3G than other phones.
But well, on 3G I can get it down from 100% to 30% in just two hours of screen turned on, and that’s using only Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp basically. This is consistent (100% to 30% in two hours) because that’s how long my work meetings last and I leave the screen turned on all the time on them lol.

Brazil could be a HUGE market for them.
But they gave up on Brazil last year, after releasing only Windows MOBILE phones, not even Windows 7 ones.
And that was at a time Motorola, which was the number 1 Android brand here, was falling in popularity and a ton of people with features phones and Nokia Symbian phones (also popular here) were moving towards iPhones and other android branded phones.
Phones like the One S and even the First could be big hits here. Now, guess what happened? Half the people have iPhones or Galaxy S/Notes and the other half (maybe more) have some Samsung midrange Android phone here, Sammy manufactures a ton of low and middle end Android models here, that’s why I say the HTC One S, the first, etc could be hits in Brazil – those Samsung midrange smartphones have sucky specs compared to them. But they gave up early on one of the biggest growing markets without even releasing a single Android device here.
(Hell, even Nokia is selling quite a bit WP phones here).

The big problem with the iPad 1 is having only 256 mb of ram, that’s why many apps won’t work on it unlike the iPhone 4 which has similar specs but 512 mb.

When I posted that I didn’t see any thread and Twitter was just filled with these news so probably someone posted at the same time in this case. Plus I had to switch from the iPhone app to the full Verge website to post (painful on an iPhone) so took me 5 minutes or so.

Everybody and their mother use Whatsapp here in Brazil.
Half the people I know have top of the line smartphones (iPhone and Galaxy S mostly) and the others have low end Androids (usually stuck at 2.3.6 so won’t run BBM), some have WP and Symbian phones, there are a few BB users too. Whatsapp works for everybody and since we pay quite a bit for SMS compared to USA, Whatsapp has been a major hit here.

I love Safari (I use Nitrous for Chrome and Atomic too) but the only really different browser I know on iOS is Puffin since it is not restricted to the Apple rendering engine.
It uses their servers and they claim it loads pages faster, I find it’s at least as fast as Safari and others.
Plus, you can load the desktop versions of the sites on it and the paid version (2.99) can run flash, the free one gives you a trial.
Nowadays I basically use Safari, Puffin for flash and desktop and icab (because it can upload photos).

I’m satisfied with the iPad 2 since iOS has tablet apps for everything and it’s become my primary gaming device, these days I’d get an iPad mini because the full sized one is cumbersome to carry around all the time.
I would need a Windows or Mac notebook if I needed heavy Office usage tho (or a Surface but I’m not sold on it yet).
