Like many things in the States, the interwebs tend to make mistakes, errors the standard, so it’s alright to drop the apostrophe. (And many people who say Murica’ wouldn’t even know how to spell apostrophe :-))
Well, the building is built on what was once part of the Hudson river (one of the reasons why a concrete bathtub was built to house the below-ground levels). I believe, though that the main support beams reach all the way down to the bedrock because of this, though.
