They only care about number of smartphones selling when the subject is WP. Articles are picked because of personal preferences (or hate). Otherwise they would be talking about how Windows is better than OSX for having a bigger marketshare.
There are so many things that Microsoft’s operating system does better than Google’s in such basic functionality such as messaging, changing system preferences and providing an enjoyable UX – all of which Android struggles with in my opinion
That’s the reason I am still a WP user rather than Android. I don’t care about instagram or google now, but MS could work a little harder to give what their users (through uservoice) are asking.
