“Hi, I’m Fran Shammo. Let me just tell you all that we at Verizon, like our brethren at AT&T, hold nothing but scorn and contempt for our customers. These bastards are lucky that we allow them to use our networks, so screw what they want. Their money is our money, and we’ll reach into their pockets and take more anytime we want. If they don’t like it, fuck ’em. Where are they gonna go? T-Mobile?? Hahahahahaha!”

WTF? WMA was never a threat from a sales standpoint. A better example is Apple’s DRM-locked AAC files sold through iTunes.

Oh come on, have they ever shown ANY indication of supporting less platforms?

Oh come on … read the f-ing article. Confirmed by multiple independent sources, if not officially by Apple.
Are you really that hard up for an argument?

You are assuming that it was all rendered video that was deleted. I doubt it. Perhaps it was just the base 3d environment files used to render the frames, which I’m sure would require FAR less space. Why else would someone working on the movie have it on their home computer? If they were working on it at home, it would probably be editing of the models, etc. There would not be much benefit to taking home the already rendered video. What are you going to do with that?
So perhaps it’s much more than just a “well-sounding tale”.

Because humans are horrible at adaptation, right? I guess you’ll never change phones, or use a Mac, or change consoles, because god forbid the change affect your workflow!

No he wasn’t. He used lower case, implying that he was talking about windows on a house or a car. Unless he’s a retard as well, he should have said “Windows” instead.

That’s what I’m sayin.
And what the hell would the Thunderbolt be for? Why would Apple bother to implement that expensive tech on a TV?

No. A small percentage of people will pay a premium on lower cost devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad). Higher cost items (iMac, MacBook Pro) have not fared so well. There is a small percentage of people will to pay the premium at prices above $1200 or so. A much smaller percentage than those willing to fork over the Apple tax at $600 or less.
If everyone was willing to pay the Apple premium at any price, Windows’ market share would be under 10% instead of OS X’s being there.
If it’s priced at a premium, it’ll sell, but not in huge volumes, certainly not the best TV sales ever.
