I am not a gamer. I do not look forward to the end of the workday so that I can veg in front of the TV with a controller in my hands. I do not anticipate large game releases with glee. In fact, I don’t really care what the game loving community considers a well-made game. That said, I am getting ready to marry a gamer and he has been trying to get me to enter his world for a while.

My fiancé spends large quantities of time researching games that he thinks I may want to play, either with him or on my own (he wants me to love gaming as much as him). Some of these attempts are more successful than others. While I still would not consider myself a gamer, he has slowly, but surely been grooming me into the sort of future partner he wants: the kind of woman who will sit around and play video games on a Saturday, without complaint.

I am sure that my fiancé is not alone in his desire for a gamer girlfriend, but not everyone has the kind of time it takes to research games that will suck their significant other into the vortex that is gaming. I want to give you the inside, expert advice on what will appeal to women in the game world. Especially women who are not gamers and need a little bit more coaxing.

I warn you, if this works, this may involve giving up some of your own screen time, or buying a second TV.
