I’m in engineering and have used active digitizer tablets since the T2010 in 2007.
However, I rarely use the digitizer now, considering that OneNote supports Latex-like formatting. Only for diagrams and small sketches is it useful now… however, I did pick up a Surface RT and hoped that a capacitive stylus would be sufficient for those small use-cases. Nope—had to return it, sadly.
Also—by any device, you mean any device with OneNote installed, right? I can’t seem to pick up ink notes on WP8 or Android or the web app. (: (Or math, for that matter.)
YouTube works in mobile Chrome, and nobody’s saying that Google should shelve YouTube on Android… It’s a different experience—and many often prefer the app to the browser if it’s built well. I’ve got my defaults for YouTube videos on Android set to open in the YouTube app—you?
America does it already… I come in through SFO/LAX quite often, and it has been around for at least four-five years (Logitech webcams to take your current picture, and fingerprint scanners).
On departure, it isn’t done, though—I suppose this changes that.
