Did you know that if you are using Youtube app on Android phone, you WILL SEE advertisements. But you think it is okay for WP app to NOT show adverts? Why?

What I am surprised about, is the number of people comparing segway to google glass. Segways sell for USD6,500 (I saw this price on Amazon). Glass in its final CONSUMER iteration is probably going to sell at smartphone prices or thereabouts. Even if it’s not, at its DEVELOPER price it is going at, it is already LOWER than a segway.
Do pple not think that the difference between a few hundred versus a few thousand is significant enough to make something more mainstream?

As a Singaporean, … my 2 cents.
- Singaporeans (include the chinese component) do NOT like China chinese. They take up scholarships and jobs Singaporeans themselves want.
- Singaporean chinese do NOT like to be linked with China chinese (which they feel has negative connotations). There is NO historical baggage… as least not with the net savvy generation.
- The above says NOTHING about the Singapore govt though, whom most of the Singapore netizens also dislike… A LOT.
- Recent (years) impression of the police by Singaporean is NOT good. They are not seen as effective as they may have used to be. They allowed a foreigner who caused grievous hurt to escape back to his country… and in that particular case, most of the investigation had to be carried by the victim himself! The police (and generally) most govt institutions are viewed as taking the side of foreigners (with money) against Singaporeans (who may be middle class).
- the Police instead of solving ‘real’ cases spend much of their time/resources on any potential opposition to the govt. They actually sent 20? plains cloth police to ‘spy’ on a ‘gathering’… and there was once when a dead body was discovered, they took 40 mins (in a country as small as singapore, 40 mins is a long time) to get to the scene.
just some ‘background’ info to put things in perspective.

Not in recent years.. with Chinese coming into the country taking up the PMET positions that Singaporeans themselves want.

well, if there is any xenophobia by the citizens, one of the targets of that would be aimed at China, seeing how the govt is allowing them into the country by the container loads.

He is probably referring to MONEY power (He did reference US aid). Not really relevant to whether US is vulnerable or not.

ya… but I’d say it is significantly harder to kill with a sword/spoon than a gun. Its like… comparing a point and shoot camera to painting.

I might point out the obvious that you seem to have confused gun CONTROL versus gun BAN.

yes.. but didn’t you vote for the govt? Also, maybe make ALL political appointments be like the US president where they can only serve for a maximum of 2 terms. Destroy the ‘career’ politicians. Europe is like … Mac OS. There are less viruses because they weren’t worth the effort? US, is like Windows. Full of bugs and you just can’t do without an anti-virus. p.s I’m from Asia so I don’t really care. ;P

arguably, it is because that it tries to avoid the violations, it didn’t managed to stop the bomber. e.g everything was captured on camera, but for privacy’s sake, no human was watching the camera. In short, your concern for ‘privacy’ may be the reason 3 people died from the bomb.
