Except that the old YouTube app, which linked to the mobile site, also did not display any ads. Bullshit excuse is bullshit.

Apparently quite a bit, if every time they tease a phone, a decent chunk of people complain that it does not have Android on it.

Be careful doing a hard-reset on the L920s. They sometimes perma-Gears (effectively, brick) when doing that, and with NaviFirm down, I do not know of places to download a backup ROM in case it dies.

TIL html5test.com is a compliance test…
From the site itself (emphasis mine):
The HTML5 test does not try to test all of the new features offered by HTML5, nor does it try to test the functionality of each feature it does detect. Despite these shortcomings we hope that by quantifying the level of support users and web developers will get an idea of how hard the browser manufacturers work on improving their browsers and the web as a development platform.
The score is calculated by testing for the many new features of HTML5. Each feature is worth one or more points. Apart from the main HTML5 specification and other specifications created the W3C HTML Working Group, this test also awards points for supporting related drafts and specifications. Some of these specifications were initially part of HTML5, but are now further developed by other W3C working groups. WebGL is also part of this test despite not being developed by the W3C, because it extends the HTML5 canvas element with a 3d context.

Er… Given that I pay for an Exchange Online seat, I think I am perfectly willing to pay for EAS. I also get EAS for free for my @gmail.com by routing it through Outlook.com.
My complaint is about the hypocrisy of claiming to be dropping it for Open Standards, then almost immediately dropping support for CalDAV in favour of a proprietary API.

And I would have been fine with them being upfront about dropping EAS because they do not want to pay for it. However, they claimed that this was done in the name of Open Standards. I dislike the hypocrisy, is all.

I remote into a Windows machine all the time for work. What are you having trouble with?
Granted, remoting into a windowed session and trying to hit a target if the remote session does not capture the mouse is annoying. But there are ways around that – one of them is either enabling mouse capture or full-screening your remote session. As well, remote desktop has functionality to activate the charms without having to hit the corners/edges. Now, granted, your flavour of remoting software may not have it yet, but this is a fairly trivially solvable problem.

On a touchscreen, I believe you can get to it if you can open up the switcher. Drag-in-out of the left side, and then tap-and-hold for right click on the start flag.
(Caveat: do not have my Surface with me, so cannot test that this actually works)

The funny thing is, Google used to support EAS, which worked out of the box. They then deprecated it, and suggested that people use IMAP, CalDAV and CardDAV, because those were open standards, as opposed to the proprietary, but arguably superior, EAS. Then they deprecated CalDAV in favor of a proprietary calendaring API. So their posturing as the bastion of open standards is…
(Edit: Forgot about IMAP)
