Your idea was good, execution is awful though. You need to work on exact positioning, use better icons, and the font rendering is awful. Also, use a lighter black for the font and make the app feel less lost/empty (e.g. the + icon). The gradients are still a bit too strong I think.
But keep going, you have a talent. Keep looking at Apple apps and try to find out why they’re looking so good.
