Reason is Forstall didn’t cooperate with other teams and he was pain in the ass. He fiercely supported ugly skeuomorphic design in iOS. Also not entirely but mostly he was responsible of maps fiasco.

Onboard graphics in haswell promise 2-3x more perfomance over ivy bridge. It should be enough to drive pixels in retina screen.
