And like I explained a few times over, iTunes isn’t the only thing that can manage music! Google Music does the same thing for Android as iTunes does for Apple.
That is unless you can tell me that there is something different which you have not yet done. Instead you keep on ranting about the desktop app.

And that ranting is annoying enough when I ask you something but I was clearly asking macboer a question here.

First I would like to ask why it is so hard and took so long for you to come with these points? I stated that it is hard for me to believe that smart playlists alone can’t possibly be the reason why it makes iTunes (and iOS) so much better than the competition so I asked if you could give me more reasons.

Second, I agree that as a media managment app on a PC (Personal Computer, just to be clear) iTunes does have an advantage over Google Music.
But I was looking for advantages of iTunes on iOS which is on a mobile device that you will mostly use when you are not near your computer. Looking from a mobile device standpoint I still see no big advantages.

Third, you are right about the availability outside the states. It sucks! Why couldn’t you come up with this earlier?

Fourth, yes the desktop website is flashed based but the mobile site works fine on Chrome for Android and that still doesn’t support flash the last time I checked so I see no big problem here.

Fifth, I have used iTunes and I didn’t liked it just like many others. I’m quit confident I’m not alone with this. I know a lot of iOS users that were very happy the day that they became independent of iTunes for updates and media.

I can only conclude that availability (what wasn’t that big of a deal when it was about Siri) and smart playlists (I guess the must be really awesome?!) are the only advantages of iTunes for the iOS platform.

Well I don’t know much about Zune but you said it does (not did) the same so that was what I was referring too.

That is indeed probably the reason why it started out that way but would you say it is a big advantage for the user?

I believe you when you say that smart playlists are a big deal to you but is it really the biggest advantage of iTunes for you?
And if so would you say it is the biggest advantage of the whole iOS platform?

You made a list of things Google Music did not have. Half of it was wrong(auto-sync) and the other half is really not that important(ratings, play count, smart playlist).
I’m not saying Genius playlist are invalid but I like to see you convince someone to buy a iPhone instead of a Android or WP because it music store has genius playlists, play counts and ratings…

If you say that iTunes is one of the two biggest advantages a iOS device has over the competition and fail to make a better argument for it than play count,. ratings and genius mixes than maybe iTunes isn’t so much better than the competition.

So I did make a comparison and I don’t see why you are so worked up about iTunes.
Yes it is the most popular Online music store but that is mostly because they were the first. And their is nothing wrong with that but that doesn’t automatically make then so much better then the rest

Again, instead of saying what iTunes does make a comparison.

Because Google music might not be a separate application but the only downside on that is that you can’t hook up your device to your computer that has that software and your music downloaded on it and than sync the music.
Both now give the option to buy and download it on the device itself.
Why would you still want to hook it up to a specific computer with specific software when you can be independent of it?

(And if Zune does the same it is no longer an advantage Apple holds over the rest of the industry, right?)

6 reply’s later and I have only heard play counts, ratings and ‘genius’(or smart, I’m confused now) mixes as reasons why iTunes is better than the competition.

Then please explain the difference between a smart and a intelligent playlist.

With Google Music I buy or upload music and then I can stream everything as long as I have internet via website or app on any computer or Android device. Or on a Android device I can select what music should be offline available. Now please explain how it is better instead of just saying it is.
