Have you guys ever considered holding back on a review just so you could spend more time with the device? I feel like there are somethings you just won’t know without spending more than a few days using a phone. I’m not complaining as I haven’t read the review, just general question.

honestly, i wouldn’t bother with a UV filter for your kit lens. Personally I don’t bother with them and have yet to break anything in 6 years.

All I want is a mirrorless camera with a knob for aperture, a knob for shutter speed, a button for iso and a mode selector dial.

There’s no one style of bag that is best. I personally have several different bags for different situations.
Probably the bag I use most often is a Lowepro Slingshot 200AW. It is a sling bag that can fit a body a few lens and a flash or other accessories, has an integrated rain cover. It does get uncomfortable but it is relatively compact for what it holds and getting in and out of the side flap is fairly simple. I usually use this for just wandering around the city but there’s really no space for non-camera stuff to go with you . Swinging it around to the front of your chest to access it can be a huge pain though if I have any kind of pass dangling from my neck or headphones. If i carry it fully loaded with say a 5d, 70-200 f4, 17-40, f4 and a couple of small primes my shoulder will be hurting at the end of the day just as if I had been carrying a messenger bag around.
I have a Crumpler 6million dollar home and you can get quite a bit of stuff in there. Usually I use this if I have something more focused in mind, expect to be swapping lenses often or have a stationary spot i can just put it down with the flap open so i can easily grab things out of it without worrying about it getting stolen. Or, if I just cant fit everything I need into the slingshot, i’ll take the Crumpler instead. The strap is thick and I have a pad on it but it will still hurt at the end of a long day and fully loaded it is pretty fat and bounces around on my hip if i’m moving quickly. I also have to be extra careful turning around in tight spaces to make sure I don’t knock things over.
I have a backpack from Burton, some variant of their ZOOM camera pack. It is a pack that opens from the side that is against your back when you are wearing it. The straps are very comfortable, it is roomy enough for multiple bodies and long lenses and fairly rigid. there’s a goggle pocket on the top edge that can be quite useful for throwing random things in, it has a sort of shovel pocket that you can toss a tripod or jacket or laptop or whatever into and also straps for attaching a snowboard directly. Usually I only use this for travelling and I will carry a second smaller bag to work out of once I arrive at my destination.
I’ve found it very useful to have a messenger style bag with no padding at all to work out of in more controlled situations like during a concert or for just traveling very lightly with only one lens on my slr. With no padding and no internal dividers you can quickly toss a body with a long lens in, or pull it out, It is also squashable if empty or relatively empty so you wont be knocking things down or bumping into people or getting caught on things.

yup, i left Engadget with Joshua and the crew. hate to say it but the people left over at Engadget are dreadfully boring. I tried to keep listening to the podcasts but I just couldn’t.

oh yeah definitely secondary phone. I like playing around with different platforms, i picked up a touchpad in the fire sale and got a palm pixi for dirt cheap a while back as well. i’ve got a nexus s that i’m not really using, thinking about selling it and getting something to play with, if a viable android rom comes out for it all the better.
what kind of apps do you guys have installed? I’m guessing there’s no g+ app. how’s the google services integration?
