I’m really sad that there are so few comments on this post, These are the sort of articles that need to be read, and what a read it was. Thanks Brian, now I’m just even more eager to see what happens when the Rift becomes mainstream.

I’m sorry but lol. First off, have you got any evidence for this? And second, I love when people blast publishers for fucking over their beloved developers when I’m totally sure that the developer has to agree to a contract and timeframe. Companies know what they are doing and what they’re getting in for. All this EA bashing is just dumb.

Isn’t that the point of the article, the fact that it’s NOT like that at all? There’s one building that falls down but nothing else is destructible.

I mean of course it was happening, but there’s a difference between it happening in the public eye and happening in private.

My thinking is that now they do know, surely the US will have to face some repercussions for this huge invasion of privacy.

Yeah maybe laws was the wrong word, I was talking more about privacy rights as you say.

Woah. Anyone who isn’t really worried/saddened/angry about this confuses me. Question: Is this whole thing legal worldwide? Aren’t there UN regulations against this sort of thing?

Is a phone that you’ve seen a million times before running software you’ve seen a million times before more important than mass privacy invasions?

Seems like they delayed the stream because Nilay isn’t there yet, but because the livestream post was scheduled for 10AM EST it thinks the stream has started. TLDR: it hasn’t started yet.

Agreed, Ellis’ posts really resonate with me too (19 here). But on topic, I find everything he says to be pretty spot on. I have friends that snapchat me images allllll day of just random things they’re doing with no consequence or fear of persecution. A lot of the time just posting a funny caption to an image or sending a stupid message. As the article says, it’s communication without fear or repercussion.
