Seriously, what is Tyrese doing? He was by far the worst part of Fast Five, and was even more awful in 2 Fast 2 Furious, the worst of the series. If they had to dredge another character out of that disaster, should have brought back Devon Aoki.
Windows phone isn’t what’s holding Nokia back. Windows phone is just as functional as iOS or Android. Except for a few annoyances, like the lack of a notification history or customisable text message tones, it’s the equal of its competitors.
What’s holding windows phone and nokia back is the refusal of many apps to make the jump. For the most part, it’s not even a lack of functionality, it’s the lack of commonality with the iphoneys and fandroids. Lomogram is better at pictures than instagram, and connects well to fb, twitter, and tumblr, but without connecting to the social aspect of instagram, it leaves WP users out of that club.
Another big problem is “placeholder” apps left over from the early days of WP7. Yelp is a good example of that, they have a WP app with search functionality, but none of the membership features of the iOS/Android apps. There’s a “google” app in the store that just points your browser to a google search.
Another big gap in the Windows phone store is video apps. There’s netflix, crunchyroll, and recently hulu plus, but no hbo go or watch espn, no abc/cbs/fox/nbc. Also, while some big airlines and banks have brought their apps to WP, others haven’t, and there’s a dearth of “brand name” apps that consumers expect.
