Just an average teenager interested in a career in some computer based field when he grows up. Currently owner of a MacBook5,2 and a Palm Pre Plus he has long since regretted getting, even at the advice of Engadget at the time. I thought Enyo was finished, as far as the requirements for Open webOS 1.0? And Enyo was spun off of that group, so there should be next to no changes in webOS because the Enyo group left.

No, but does a Motorola RAZR deserve a 10/10 compared to an iPhone 4S?

No, I’m pretty sure Metro has a background service for VOIP clients. Runs the same way as the background music one does.
If not, you can be sure that’s going to be added soon.

…As in a filter that involves using a real world camera, after the actual taking of the picture? Doubt that’s been done before.
Or maybe it’s more in the sense that the camera filter uses a real world effect, as opposed to a software effect. Doubt that’s been done before.

It doesn’t look anything like webOS’s cards! If you believe that, then you’re blind!
I want a full thumbnail of my apps, and I want it big enough that I can see what it is. I don’t want an entirely useless label for all of my stupid 1 inch wide screenshots, not even big enough that I can reliably use them as touch targets. No. That’s not webOS. That’s a slight reimagining of a very archaic idea. Just steal the dang app switcher in it’s entirety. Then the OS might actually work…

How about Chromium? Unix? Darwin? WebKit? Apache? nginx? I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. Here’s what you know these products as:
Google Chrome (including ChromeOS)
So many things, but often the basis for web servers. And we have a lot of those.
The kernel of OS X.
The rendering engine for Safari and Chrome.
And the last two are very popular web server software.
This software is insanely important to the internet. Microsoft couldn’t even exist without the help of a couple of these products.

Eh, you could argue that. The thing is, the principle towards the developers was the same, but consumer facing, they couldn’t appear more different.

I love the Google Music service. I love a lot of Metro’s concepts. The unification would be the next best thing to Google Music on webOS.

Hmm…Well, I was messing around with Metro the other day, and I still think it’s too minimalistic. I had no idea how any of it worked. Heck, I probably wouldn’t have found the Start screen for a good 15 minutes if I hadn’t heard the corner was the new button. And even when I had gotten used to corners pulling up charms, then I couldn’t figure out where the rest of my apps went. Come to find out, right clicking the Start screen brings up another little charm-type-thing that has all apps in it. That took me 7 hours to find, because I didn’t think that would be an obvious action on a touch screen. Apparently that’s all controlled by edge swipes, which don’t work on a mouse. Or a trackpad, like I was using. Windows 8 is horrible on trackpads.
And seriously? I don’t want widgets. I like going through all the motions to find things and information on the internet or in my apps. I don’t want a quick way to do that, or else it destroys one of my favorite timewasters: running around mostly familiar environments in search of new things. Possibly Metro will get better for me. Maybe when they release more apps, like one for Google Music. That would be awesome.
So, final verdict: Metro needs apps. When they release some, I’ll try it again, but with a mouse this time. Hopefully it’s not as painful as the trackpad.

Today? It’s most of the time. They are always there. But so are we, the rational ones. And we end up on the other side occasionally. Such is the Internet, making fools out of the entire human race so your culture doesn’t have to. :รพ

God gave us all brains to think with, bodies to act with, and hearts to love with. Why should we allow only half of our people to do so openly?
