[Slight Spoilers] Maybe it was just me but I thought Ben Kingsley’s performance was more nuanced than it appeared (see Harry Knowles review at aicn). I don’t think Marvel would simply “throw away” such a major villain especially with their long game planning. I suspect/hope that the Mandarin returns in a different form in a future movie.
