The only reason why it’s a big deal is because of Apple’s opinion on copying. Companies borrow things from each other all the time, no big deal… unless you’re apple, then you have to sue everyone to hell for making a similar icon, a rounded corner or something as generic as touching a touchscreen to unlock. And then apple goes and completely rips off pretty much everything from all major competitors and claiming it as their own.
