That’s not what I meant. If there was reason to suspect that it was the case, due to the anonymous citations, then why not simply say something like “anonymous government officials report that….blah blah blah” ?
Well if you know the answer to be ‘yes’ then why not state that in the damn headline? The reason why most question-based headlines can be answered with a ‘no’ is because they’re usually nothing more than stupid sensationalist rubbish, asking really dumb questions.
