When it comes to territorial claims to the North, look who has been financially supporting the Inuit people for decades. Canada. If given the choice countries like Russia would have killed these people groups off decades ago. Once places like Iqaluit get a deep see dock, the level of trade will increase and the North will forever change as more people consider moving up North for work. Take it from me who now has family that live and work up there.
Oh and here are the real power rangers of the North.

You clearly work for one of the Big 3 Canadian Telecoms. Every phone sold through a Canadian carrier store is at least nationally locked (expect Nexus phones), even if you pay full price. Canada has some of the worst cell phones plans in the world.
This story is completely blown out of proportion. In an age when you have to gain traction quickly against the social network juggernaut Facebook, most social apps will ask to connect with your contacts list. As Facebook is becoming more of a global database for advertisements than actually connecting to friends and family, this practise is more familiar now than ever. Requesting to access your friends list. I call this complete user error/ignorance. Its the same reason people believe they received an email from their bank and unknowingly sign in with their information only to realize its a Phishing site. The Internet is always looking for a few good patsies.
I love it that the Verge is covering Canadian politics. Sincerely. What I love more is the first comment, watching Mayor Ford walking into a camera… And you thought Canadian politics were boring. Priceless.
I love the Vergecast, but is it possible to use better resolution while using livestream? Its pretty bad. Or of course encode the video in your usual flash player would also be great. Thanks!
