I don’t completely agree with folks saying “Android is open source”. Android is open base but Google owned source. Every android phone/tablet/phablet manufacturers pack pretty much all Google apps in every Android based phone/tablet/phablet. Do you see any Samsung galaxy S4 or HTC One without Google’s apps such as GMail, Google Maps, Chrome, etc. Ultimately this is where Google track every android user for business like where the user travels or drives, what the user is searching for in Google search/Google now, What product/place information is exchanged by users through GMail,etc. There won’t be any successful true “OPEN” source software ever in my opinion.Android is selfishly acquired by Google to 1) destroy closed software model 2 ) to profit ad business.
There’s a BIG difference between " Made in the USA" and “Assembled in the USA” though. This Moto X will be “Assembled in the USA” per press release from the link.
