Sounds like Microsoft all right. It does everything but nothing particularly well.

Sure Microsoft, because waving like a crazy person all the time is much easier than hitting the arrow button. Or using multitouch on the trackpad, I think the automatic lockscreen is not a particular useful implementation, it is the only one. Except you’d want to play Kinect-like games on your laptop

No I listened. His job is writing what he thinks about a product or whatever. My question is: How are you going to do that when you don’t now the looks, the specs, the functionality and so on? Or are you going to write about it when you don’t even know it happened? Sure you could buy all those newspapers and get your stuff together but it’s never going to be as detailed or as tech oriented as you’d want to. Because their focus group doesn’t to read that stuff, it’s that simple. Sure you can buy a tech magazine (at the end of the week or month) but the world moved on and nobody cares if you start writing about that then.

I don’t want to be mean, don’t get me wrong but Paul not using the internet is not the best idea. It is kinda absurd that he won’t be exposed to Skype, like he’s not being exposed to that in the subway or office. Additionally it is annoying when Josh explains him the whole concepts we’ve already seen and read about and repeats himself all over again. Don’t get me wrong, I get the experiment and it is interesting to see what a non internet user knows about technology BUT I don’t think it is the brightest idea when your job is literally a ONLINE editor for tech and gadgets. Yeah he is going to write about the experiene, but is that enough?

Great review! Covers all my questions about the camera. However I really wished The Verge had some more video reviews or additional video features. You’re more than a digital magazine. I get it, it’s a lot of work to to it “The Verge Style”. Nice fade in, fade out, beautiful cutting, camera angles and lighting. And we know to appreciate that. but without a small video the review feels incomplete. We don’t get that a good feeling for the product. Take the engadget review for example. It’s not as good as the verges but that video really adds to it. Such a shame
