I hear Bing is great in the US, where it’s actually regionalised. Here in Europe, however, it’s unreleased and unusable. It’s a cruel joke that a button hardwired to the front of my device leads to such awfull functionality.
This is a common question from people who’ve no idea how an OS works. Windows is allready modular and Windows allready shuts everything down when you game.
I had three Windows Mobile phones, including an HD2 which could also run WP and Android. Then a Titan and now an 8X. I’m a fan of the no-nonsense WP GUI, but they’re not moving nearly as fast as I’d like when it comes to functionality.
Apple and Google are both bigger than MS. Look at market share, income, value, whatever.
You’d have gotten far more usefull answers if you’d been honest in your opening comments. Still, the end result seems to be okay, and that’s all that matters.
Make sure you hold a 920 in your hand before you buy it. Some people find it too tanky and may prefer the 8X instead.
Where do I start?
“they just don’t seem to be doing well” they’re actually doubling several times a year.
“Microsoft being the giant that it is” MS is like a mouse in mobile.
“why isn’t it selling” It’s selling quite well.
First you ask “are they even worth considering”, but when you get a bit of resistance you change it to “I’m leaning towards a WP ATM”.

WP has been growing faster than any other mobile OS since it came out, but you say it’s not doing well, and that it’s a joke. And yet you’re not trolling…
Windows Phone has lotsa problems and glaring holes, but this definately isn’t one of them. Frankly I find it difficult to understand how someone can spend so much time documenting a problem that isn’t there.
WP has only been out three years and has been growing steadily that whole time, but you say it’s
“not picking up”.
You say it’s a “flat out lie” that black screens improve battery life, but everyone knows that only applies to AMOLED screens.
One of the biggest flaws of the Android ecosystem is the huge GUI variety – even on one and the same device. Switch to an Android phone if you think that makes it more vibrant, but I’m very happy with my “boring” Windows Phone where the controls are always in the same place and in the same style.
