I currently have CyanogenMod 10.1 (nightly builds) running on my M7 A.K.A. HTC One. I have developed and run custom ROMs on a variety of Android devices for years, including variants of AOSP and AOKP. While the CM10.1+HTC1 experience cannot technically be described as the ‘HTC One “Nexus Experience” Edition’, it’s pretty damn close. CM10.1 on the HTC1 has been en eye opener. Even though the nightly builds are less than a month old, CM is quite stable, nearly feature complete, and even I find this hard to believe, but better performer than Sense as far as responsiveness is concerned, and battery life. With that being said, there are still bugs and missing features with CM10.1 on the M7 and it will be quite a while before they’re addressed. Still, CM10.1 is good enough to be my daily driver. The HTC1 should be running 4.2.2, and HTC should even lighten Sense’s footprint further than they already have. Shame that Google didn’t pick this phone to be the standard-bearer for the Nexus Experience. CM10.1 is so good, and my revulsion of Sense is so strong, I won’t be going back to stock.
