I believe that I know what parts I am going to do and use. I need to go through some data sheets and create the schematic. It will be a hexapod (6 legs) with 3 servos per leg, a rotating IR sensor to detect the environment and will use an Arduino Uno because I have one lying around. No crane for now but it could be a possibility in the future.

That would be great. Where are you from. Wouldn’t really be feasible if you live far away (shipping and such).

I agree that hardware-wise the gs3 probably will outclass its competitors but the only downside is that super amoled. I really think the people were expecting a plus display which is probably why people are disappointed. Personally I liked the s2 and the gnex design better since the back wasn’t a glossy piece of plastic which will scratch like crazy. Overall I fell like its will sell well and everyone’s critism will vanish when they see how fast it can be. Also let’s not forget that Steve from cyanogen works at Samsung and they (cyanogen) have been really good at creating versions for the Samsung flagships. So if us nerds don’t like the new touchwiz a nice version of cm9 won’t be far after the s3 launches.

Honestly though how many times a day do you change the brightness? Probably not a lot. That is why it’s so far. More commonly used things are at the front like tethering, wifi or notifications. On the other hand the “General” part of setting should be renamed “Broad” since they just put everything that doesn’t fit elsewhere in there. As for the app launcher, I don’t think it’s a big deal. I mean on my android phone i have a bunch of widgets but the only ones that I always use are just like whether and calendar which iOS has in some form. But you know different strokes.

Metro does look cool but does anyone feel like it doesn’t have its place on the modern pc (x86 laptop/desktop). I have the dev preview installed in vmware on my mac and every time I hit the command key to copy/paste it kicks me to the metro start screen with an animation that takes like 2 seconds. Extremely frustrating when trying to do “real” work.

A lot of people are saying that this doesn’t have a use besides creating shot glasses and bottle openers but I would have to disagree with them. I’m definitely getting one of these. Being able to create parts for projects instead of buying them would be incredible but I guess not everyone thinks about the creative possibilites of something like this.

I really can’t see why copying each other is a bad thing. I want the best possible implementation of something. If Android has the best notification system I want it on my iPhone. If the iPhone has the best touch response I want that in Android. I just want good products. I could care less who came up with it first as long as it improves the industry.
