Interesting article- mainly for the illustrations. In fact, Europe was way ahead of America. By 1933 the Germans were transmitting fully-electronic TV, the British had the first commercial service in 1936. and the French had high-definition TV in 1949. The German PAL colour system was far superior to the American NTSC.

I supported Diaspora in the early days but I just don’t think they are going to make it. They are too small and clueless about marketing. However, anything is better than Facebook.
