Is it really necessary? I find Pulse, sometimes combines with Pocket, to be an excellent solution for reading both The Verge and other sites.

I really don’t think fragmentation is such a big problem. I almost never run into problems, and when I do it’s with some niche app that I don’t really need anyways.

It’s not greed. It’s them being responsible towards their shareholders. If I had invested in a company and the board of that company voted to make less money just to be nice, I’d be pissed. Even if it’s the right thing to do.

Not to mention, to force people who are citizens of another country and isn’t in the US at all to pay US taxes would be an agression towards the nation in which the person is a citizen.
