I find coding akin to a spiritual practice. It’s like tilling the earth in a way, you reap what you sew and your code reflects your values like a well maintained garden or fence (that few may ever see). Maintaining a posture of presence and awareness and knowing your craft deeply are also very useful. In this case technology or science is a similar path to a religious one and they can inform one another.
Entrepreneurship, I think, could be similar as well. In a sense, Christ or Buddha were social entrepreneurs (forgive the comparison to the owner of the greenwashed hipster stupidity near you) – free beings who thought outside of the constraints of the day to transform culture. I think the most pivotal question would be is one pursuing one’s own kingdom or God’s?
