The sponsored ads in the top of a google search get lots of clicks and tend to be pretty relevant especially if you’re looking to buy something. I think this is a major differentiator between google and facebook. People us google to find things and look a the results. People use facebook to see what their friends have posted and ignore the ads.

I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on an ad on facebook.

What do you expect from someone who just fell ass backwards into money? Actually he had to whine to Zuck to get more than the initial ridiculous sum he was given.

For individuals worth this much, the “perks” of citizenship anywhere are essentially meaningless. They can buy whatever they want.

Yes, the US has a very low tax rate compared to other first world nations. It makes very little sense to compare it to the tax rates of developing nations.

So it’ll be just like any other tv with a bigger bezel?

Ease up with the expectations. Retina display? It’s a TV so it will adhere to current TV standards, which means 1080p like every other TV. It’ll be a mid-high end TV with and apple TV built in and a few extra features. Apple’s real problem will be dealing with content providers and how much they let them offer. It wont matter how nice the interface is if you still have to use your crappy cable box.

I’d imagine this is part of the reason you need to print, sign, and fax forms to them. Some of the small print agreed to likely makes it more difficult to dispute these kind of charges.

I’d imagine they’re more than happy to pay Oracle this amount and tell them to get lost.

I remember reading an article in the times a few years ago about a guy who dates his body pillow. There is a subculture that is obsessed with hentai. Here it is:

You’re free to love the show all you like. I loved much of it. I watched it religiously for years as did a large group of my friends and we all pretty much unanimously thought the entire last season sucked.

Agreed, social seems way overvalued. Part of it is simply that social is an area of innovation in the US right now, and we like to think what we create is the bees knees. But amassing lots of users with no clear value or long term revenue model doesn’t make a strong business.

No surprise here. No way the hardware in the current lineup is near capable of running a QNX based OS. Most low end android phones have more powerful CPUs than current gen blackberries.

Is there any functional version of BB10 near release to developers? This runs playbook OS 2.0 and your supposed to develop apps for it that are supposed to be compatible with BB10, but this cant run BB10? What is going on here? Stop telling us how great BB10 will be and actually give the devs a working version.

There is certainly some promise here, but the lack of any kind of release date is a bad sign.
Did Rim mention any target date at all?
This has been in the works what seems like forever and in the meantime iOS, Android, and WP will continue to be refined and developed. The alternatives are already very mature platforms. Rim needs to get this out the door already.

So this doesn’t even run an alpha version of BB10? It’s just a shrunken playbook. How long has BB10 been in the works for? How can they expect devs to jump on board when they can’t even get a functional version of the OS out for testing?
