They can’t sue Google directly over Android because Android isn’t really a product in the sense that it’s not sold directly to consumers. PHONES are sold to consumers, which means can either sue Samsung over the S4 or Google over the Nexus 4. The S4 will clearly crush the Nexus in terms of volume, so it makes sense to focus their efforts on Samsung.

This is the first time I’m hearing about 3 cores being dedicated to the OS, but the fact that it dedicates 3 GB of RAM has been confirmed by the X1’s CPO:

Then this wouldn’t have come out for another few months or so. It’s not like all they have to do is stick Haswell into it and call it a day. They have to design a new motherboard for it since Intel changed sockets.

Hard drives actually haven’t actually gotten any cheaper in a while. They’re only now coming down to the prices that they were at 2.5 years ago, when a bunch of hard drive factories were destroyed in floods.
I’d expect them to stick storage that’s slightly bigger than the PS3’s, maybe start at a 250 GB option.

Yeah, it does. They weren’t clear about what that second chip is exactly but it’s there. The PS4 is quite impressive.

The two Jaguar architectures are aimed at low power devices like netbooks and tablets, hence equivalent to Intel’s Atom. That’s not to say they didn’t pump up the PS4’s Jaguar CPU, but the architecture is what it is.

Not really, you can game with any old $10 mouse and keyboard. Decent monitor sure, but that’s like saying you need a decent TV to play on the PS4.
8 GB of RAM is pretty common on pre-built desktops nowadays

Every program (or game) “wants” a certain amount of RAM at any given time. For maximum effectiveness, you want to have enough RAM in a system to be able to give the program/game as much as it needs. Excess RAM is not going to make it any faster. At that point, faster RAM is indeed more beneficial to speed over high amounts of RAM.

The PS4 APU is not based on Steamroller. Steamroller isn’t even an APU architecture. It’s based on Jaguar, which is AMD’s equivalent of Intel’s Atom.
