Didn’t really realize what it is I hate so much about the Windows Phone UI until now. This would actually make it tolerable to look at. Such a simple change. Too bad that probably means Microsoft won’t be doing it.
Seriously. The difference with RSS is that I get to PICKANDCHOOSE MY OWN bits and bites. I can’t tell you how many stories Google Now has thrown in my face that I have no interest in seeing. Sorry, Google, you’re not there yet. I wish instead of these BS explanations they would either shut up, or just be honest and say, “Hey, we need more sign-ups for Google+ so we’re killing your news reader.”
You say it wasn’t a problem until recently, so it’s probably an app (or apps). I’ve had this problem myself. Firefox was one, probably the syncing feature, and Sipdroid can go rogue when it’s constantly reregistering. Here’s the solution. Download a good uninstaller, one that can sort by date of install. There are good free ones in the play store. Take your most recently installed app and either uninstall it, or freeze it with Titanium Backup and see if it fixes your battery drain. Keep going down the list until you nail down what app is causing it. I’ve done this two or three times with my N4 when I suddenly can’t get a full day out of the battery, and have gotten the battery life to bounce right back to easily cruising through the busiest days.
