I worked in one of the Global Software centres which were ultimately closed down where I worked and were more centralised in America.
Over the 11 years I was there I saw a company that was when I joined it – staffed with over 150,000 employees – when I left I think there was at least half to 1/3 of that – seeing many people laid off and sectors sold off. :(

I worked at Moto for over 11 years and they have some freaky research – alot of it never saw the light of day – I saw tons of stuff that was years ahead of their competitors – it was all about getting it to market.
One thing I do remember is Moto had a stack load of patents on special battery technology – which I am sure Google was interested in for its smaller devices like Glass.
Should they have paid 12 billion who knows.. maybe all will be revealed when the “Google Phone” is released that will truly harness Motorola’s engineering prowess and patent portfolio..

Fair enough but if this thing is to last – why has Australia not got it with all the other countries who dont have it?
If its so good why is it not global yet?
What I want to see is them honouring all of the blurays I have already purchased into my cloud locker – whilst I still retain my physical copies – now that would be useful.

Ultraviolet is USA only – its not global.
Until there is an ironclad universal streaming locker – I am not interested in those services.

I agree – and YOU control your library – not the movie studios as they would with streaming services – another bonus of having your own physical library!

I am one who wants to ‘own’ physical media (BluRay) so it cant be disabled, removed, delisted, blocked, etc..
Why is it that so many people are just happy to easily give up their rights to hold a physical copy of what they love to watch – sorry but I dont get this hype to make everything ‘streaming’.
Doesnt anyone want to OWN and CONTROL their media library???

I far prefer BluRay as do the people below who have commented similarly.
Unfortunately I see many people hoping physical media will ‘die off’ – the problem with their ‘streaming world’ is that there will be NO concept of media ownership – only RENTING.
I am building up my own PHYSICAL library now before you will never be able to buy these titles anymore.
I for one do NOT want to live in a world where we all have to ONLY ‘rent’ content from the movie studios.
Is this a world that you want to live in???
I love Netflix – but its nothing compared to my BluRay collection which looks better and sounds a whole lot better too. Also I will know that for my physical library no one will be removing my favourite films because they just decide to like Netflix has done – removing many titles because they no longer pay for that content.
