I absolutely love Primer, and still watch it from time to time. I watched this in the theatre, but I did not at all get it. Not that I didn’t understand the story (I kinda did), I didn’t understand why it needed to be told or why the movie needed to be made. I read the leaked “A Topiary” script online and thought that that was a much more compelling story.
Also I don’t understand why so many reviews refer to Upstream Color as “beautiful”? I mean, that’s generally the first and main compliment given it… I didn’t find it so much more beautiful than many other movies so as to be extraordinarily so….

The good old PreCentral days…. Heady times…. So full of promise, when smartphone unveilings were actually surprising and developments were major, not incremental…. Sad case of over promise and under deliver… I really wanted the Pre to succeed, and if the launches had been better managed and had more resources, I think we’d still be seeing Pres today, maybe Mattias Duarte and Jon Rubenstein would still be with Palm!

Travelling, long flight, road trip, etc where you don’t have access to a charger… Sometimes I’m just in and out of the car so much that the car charger can’t replenish my battery enough… On a day trip outdoors where you’re taking a bunch of pics, then out for supper that night. Lots of real world use case scenarios.
Kind of a straw man argument to point out the pitfalls of having to carry around a spare battery every day. I do not use a spare battery every day. However, I do use it, and when I do, I’m grateful I have one.

Hmmm, never knew that— I’ll have to look for that next time.
The most common American reaction to multi-coloured bills is “That looks like Monopoly money!!! HARDEEHARHAR!!!” which to non-Americans simply confirms the prejudice that Americans are ignorant and think that everything they do is the best way to do it.
There are many benefits to multi-coloured money, and few drawbacks, unless of course, ‘looking like Monopoly money’ is a huge drawback.

The $12.5 billion would be a capital cost, so it would be an asset, not an expense, therefore not immediately tax deductible. However, the devaluation of the patent values might be a write-off.

I’ve never understood the American hatred for multi coloured bills… How can it be a bad thing? I’m always nervous walking around with a wad of $1 US bills, how can a thief know that I only have $20? At least in Canada when they see a stack of blue bills they know I’m poor.
