I switched to Safari when Lion came out. At first I didn’t like it, but I like a lot now. The multi-touch gestures are what sold me. Page rendering is the same as chrome.

I remember I got a job at a local photo shop in 1997. During my interview I was asked if I knew what APS was and what it stood for. Man now I just feel old.

It would only space them out vertically. No space would be added horizontally. That might make it look strange.

The problem here is that you only have a small niche of photographers who can afford these cameras on the top end. The other side of it is that many other cameras have gotten so good and so cheap that photography is now underrated as a profession. In other words it’s hard to make a living doing it. So hasselblad really isn’t going to open up a bigger market for themselves unless they can drop these cameras in half from where they just dropped them.
Most pro photographers don’t need the kind of resolution these cameras offer. Because they are usually going to web or smaller prints. So my point is, only the people who could afford them before can afford them at 20% off.
That said, 20% off is still good. I just don’t believe it’s going to open up a bigger market for them.

How about clothing, jewelry, headphones or any other number of products we wear, sometimes for function and sometimes because we enjoy it.

You can bet AR glasses are coming in a big way in the next 5-15 years. Eventually they will be indistinguishable from regular eye glasses but pack so much more punch. However they have to start somewhere and this is why you’re seeing these attempts by Google and soon Apple. They are getting their patents and technologies in places for what will be the future of computers. There is no doubt it is coming and will change the way we do things.

Here is one article about it from 2010. Apparently the patent was applied for in 2008. http://gizmodo.com/5507243/apple-wants-us-to-wear-3d-ipod-glasses

I forgot to mention that Apple already took out a patent for some AR glasses sometime last year. I can’t seem to find it now. But it was barely noticed by the media, yet it will have a bigger impact then they gave it credit for.

I’m thinking Apple needs to open it’s own movie studio just to make this picture. They already having the editing software and post-production machines. They could even have the actor playing Steve Jobs do a keynote at the end of the movie during the credits introducing the iTV or something.

Ok after reading further comments I decided to investigate more. It’s possible I’m wrong here. But what I don’t understand is that my monitor is set to 60Hz and yet I can watch 24fps footage on it in windowed mode. Which is what leads me to believe that Hz and fps are different. But if someone can correct me and give me more knowledge I’m happy to take it.

Not exactly. More fps means more bandwidth, more storage and more frames to work with in VFX. Which means cost does increase. How much it increases I don’t know.

Why do they have to be looking for something new? Why can’t they enjoy their 50" 1080p set for the next 20 years? Replacing your perfectly good tv every 2-3 years is wasteful. We didn’t used to do that. We used to hold onto TV’s for decades. Not to mention that 99.9% of people can’t see the difference in resolution between 720p and 1080p at normal viewing distances. 4K or 8k is going to make even less of a difference. Dimishing returns past what the human eye can perceive.

I agree. A 40-60" TV, an ipad on the coffee table and a computer at the desk would solve all your needs.
At best what I think you’re talking about Argella would be better suited as a desktop replacement than a wall screen. Something like a 50" flat on a desk display with multitouch or raised slightly to 30-40 degree angle for writing/drawing/whatever.
