I use to think this way too, but have changed my tune over the years. Other people are subsidizing the channels I watch, which in turn means greater quality in the content I enjoy.
I’m a big sports fan, and ESPN is doing some great things with technology. ESPN 3 and Watch ESPN are examples of content I would not be able to enjoy if cable was offered al a carte. I know we all want to immediately jump to an al a carte model, but think about what that would do to your favorite stations if only a fraction of total subscribers ask for it.
