Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 didn’t boost sales because nobody could get one. Remember how badly Verizon screwed up that device launch?
The Desire was more successful than the N1 for much the same reason: you could buy one from a carrier, on contract. The N1 was only available directly from google, for much more up front, and then you need a carrier contract anyway (remember, this was early 2010, and big data mvno or pre-paid options yet). Additionally, there was really no competition in the Android space at that point. The OG Droid had launched, but that was it; HTC pretty much had the market to themselves.

So, by default, if you have a PIN set up, the widgets are minimized. You should be able to swipe down, and hide the PIN entry area. Then, widgets should work as normal.
or at least that’s how it works on CM.

I believe it is apparent The Verge doesn’t have a clue about what people value and want in a smartphone.
How many times have we seen a movie or TV show be critically acclaimed, and be a commercial failure?

That was the brand on the box, but it was HTC who actually made them, just like it’s Apple on the box, but the iMac is really made by Foxconn

I see this more as publishers seeing the writing on the wall, that streaming services will replace them as publishers.
