AOSP-themed debloated TW ROM. Duh!
(Mind you, there isn’t a working native one on VZ yet. But that’s the answer to your issue, no?)

Lots of S4s showed up in the last few weeks in NYC. I think everyone here is on Verizon.
Still haven’t seen a One.

Every new AP is interference. What you’re describing will take the wireless bandwidth directly from the household “customer”. This is a disaster all around.

It’s the i9500 (Exynos, non-LTE). Maybe the LTE i9505 is only available there in 16gb, but unless you’re on EE it doesn’t matter. I’m sure there are legit 32gb i9500 units around.
PayPal is very good (maybe too good, if you’re a seller) about granting your money back if you’ve been ripped off, so I’d trust that. But when you get it, try plugging the phone into Kies and see if the Samsung software recognizes it. If so, nothing to worry about.

Driveway? If it’s a home, it will be useless anyway. In cities, where this will make a difference, there is massive wifi overcrowding/interference anyway.
There are only three non-interfering channels on 2.4ghz.

June 26.
The bootloader is still locked, but there’s a workaround that makes it a nonissue for you the user as long as your device never takes an OTA. Since the first thing you’ll do after you root is install a custom recovery, that’s simple. Only issue is what happens down the line if you get a warranty replacement or something that comes unhackably locked. (I think the answer is: sell it and buy a dev edition from Samsung.)

In his price range OP can get Soundmagic’s PL50. On the other hand, his reference to bass makes me wonder if he does want pronounced (that is, boosted) lows.

I meant, do you have it on VZ, and therefore have to go unsubsidized to keep it. (This puts unsubsidized dev editions in play.)
If not, it’s up to you. I’d get the S4 when software for the Google Edition releases, but there’s a chance the bootloader on newly sold stock VZ models is relocked by then. You could also get it now (it’s a nice upgrade — twice the battery life of the LTE GNex) and flash to CM until then. At the moment AOSP ROMs for the Verizon S4 have three minor issues: (1) GPS and non-GPS (wifi, etc) location are mostly mutually exclusive, (2) 5ghz band on wifi doesn’t work, (3) sound isn’t properly routed to headphones when making a call.
The One isn’t on 4.2. ;)

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if KLP leaves the phone experience mostly alone. 4.1 was pretty great.
Perhaps Matias was talking about finally getting to tackle the big one — desktop UI.

Why would he need to step up his game when Apple has just validated his choices by stealing his work from WebOS/Holo?
