The problem with this is that a users experience of the game may be diminished by the changes, they will then pass this on to their peers who may decied against purchasing the game based on that feedback. I know its not good, but if I like a game that I have pirated, I will often purchase it. Just Cause 2 and Farcry 3 are good examples of this for me.
